High Quality Crokinole Board, Solid Cherry, Hangs on the Wall, Paul Szewc
Are you looking for a very high quality crokinole board? Well, look no further. Check out our YOUTUBE clip.

Cabinetmaker/Wood Artist Paul Szewc of Guelph built this unique and fun Crokinole game. This board is competition regulation size.

Please Note: Because this item is very large and needs to ship by courier, the cost is greater to ship than our other products.

How to Order..........

Board with velvet bag of biscuits $285 USD

Board with biscuits in score counter box $310 USD

Shipping is the same for more than one because they ship singly.

The outside frame is made from Solid Cherry. The board frame has been been finger jointed and pocket screwed together. (photo 4) (A finger joint or comb joint is a woodworking joint made by cutting a set of complementary rectangular cuts in two pieces of wood, which are then glued. To visualize a finger joint simply interlock the fingers of your hands at a ninety degree angle; hence the name "finger joint." It is stronger than a butt or lap joint, and contributes to the aesthetics of the piece.) This means there is more of a gluing surface and the boards will never come apart. This is the best joint possible. Unlike mitre joints that will eventually come apart.

The inside large circle was made from Russian birch plywood - the highest grade you can buy. Even though we use the best material possible sometimes there are patches in the plywood. This is only a visual thing not a functioning element. The biscuits still slide smoothly. The board has been laser engraved so the numbers will not wear off. This Crokinole Board will outlast you.

The posts around the circle are made of metal and have surgical tubing around them for bumper. This enables the biscuits to have a bit of a softer sounding bounce.

The round frame is more user-friendly and a delight to play with because when the game is over simply spin the opponent's colour biscuits back to them around the edge. When you score in the centre, place your biscuit on top of the ledge so you don't get mixed up with the other biscuits not in play. Other boards have a very thin ledge on the frame which is uncomfortable for your hand to rest on while you shoot. Our ledge is 1-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" tall. We have the best gutters too. A gutter is where the pieces rest while they have been shot off the board. Our gutters are 2-1/2" wide. The board has feet on it also so it doesn't scratch your table. As shown in photo 2 hang this board on the wall as a piece of artwork when not in use.

Standard 1-1/4" wooden biscuits in a black velvet bag are included. The crokinole counter/storage box is available at an extra charge of only $25.00 with the purchase of a board. This counter generally has a maple top with a cherry bottom unless we are out of stock and have some other ones on hand. The counter on its own without the purchase of a board is available for $45.00. We purchased the biscuits and they are good quality and work well.

Finished with multiple sandings and sprayed with sealer then sanded again and sealed. This creates that smooth-to-touch finish on every surface. This process is the same as what a high quality piece of furniture receives. It is very durable and requires no care. Simply wipe with a damp cloth if it becomes dirty. It will last for many years to come.

The diameter is 34". The playing surface is standard 26" diameter.

Please note that each board has different characteristics of the wood grain than the one shown in the photo. It will be very similar though.

Our goal at Masterpiece Lasered Wood is to provide you with the best quality product we can. As wood is a natural, living product sometimes its grain and texture can get a little unruly. Knots, streaking, and other flaws in the grain can occur during the natural growth of the tree. We at Masterpiece Lasered Wood, home of the famous “wonky” furniture design, believe these qualities add a uniqueness to our product rather than flaws. We do, however, try our to best to ensure every product we create is free from large, unsightly markings and deformities in the wood but cannot guarantee they will be free of minor flaws. If you are like us and LOVE some rebellious wood grain or an interesting knot here and there (as long as it doesn’t interfere with the use), let us know and we will try and dig up something special for your tastes.

The shipping charges are what we get charged from Purolator. We have not added any extra charges. The only way for cheaper shipping is to pick it up. I have a special rate with Purolator at the moment.
